Our Story

Since 2012 Harrisonburg had a video game store called Monster Games but on January 3, 2022 Monster Games announced that they would be closing their brick-and-mortar location permanently. They would close on the 31st.

 

We mourned the loss of the friendly local video game store, not to mention one of the only places in the Valley to get retro games.We got the bright idea to try something very bold.  Assembling a team of our close friends and putting in several long weeks of preparation, we started our own company.  Our hope was to keep retro gaming alive in the Valley and to pick up where Monster Games left off!

 

​We started small, opening on April 16, 2022 with partially-bare shelves.  Since we opened, the community has come out, trading in video games for all generations. In the two and a half years since we opened, we've slowly become a store worthy of the title of "the Valley's retro game store".  We couldn't have done it without you!   Even now our humble storefront grows every day and we hope to serve you for many years to come!
